10DX Summit UAE Edition

UAE banks are moving from digital to autonomous as fast as any in the world. The federal government has committed to run half its services on agentic AI within two years. The Central Bank has published AI guidance with defined levels of human oversight, launched a sovereign financial cloud, made open finance mandatory and put Aani instant payments, dirham stablecoins and the Digital Dirham on the same timeline. For established banks with large balance sheets and legacy estates, the task is to run more of the bank on AI without losing control of it.

10DX UAE brings together the technology, digital, transformation, data and customer experience leaders of the country's national and international banks. Across five sessions, the programme examines who is accountable when an agent acts, how pilots become a reusable platform, what the bank must expose when the customer sends an agent, how one bank runs many payment rails, and what an AI platform really costs and returns. It is an agenda for bankers deciding how far software should be trusted to act, and for the partners helping them do it.

Who Is Accountable When the Agent Acts?

Agentic AI, the CBUAE Guidance and the Autonomous Operating Model. The UAE has decided that AI will act, not just advise. Government is moving its own services onto agents, and banks are following with their own. Autonomy changes the question from what a model predicts to what it is allowed to do. The opening panel asks how banks grant authority, trace what agents did, and take that authority back.
  • CBUAE guidance sets three oversight tiers and limits fully autonomous AI to low-risk, non-material processes. Which banking tasks belong in each tier?
  • Every AI system must be stoppable immediately by a human. How does a kill switch work for agents wired into payments and core?
  • An agent's authority has to be granted, traced and revoked. How does the bank test and audit actions across several agents and systems?
  • Boards are accountable for model selection, deployment and outcomes. What evidence must a board see before it approves an agent to act?

From Pilots to a Platform

Data, Architecture and the Sovereign Cloud Behind AI at Scale. UAE banks have the ambition and the budget for AI, and the leaders already run agents in production. The harder step is a platform: agents across the enterprise, on trusted data, that others can build on. New national financial infrastructure has changed the options. This session examines what a bank must build, modernise and choose to get there.
  • Leading UAE banks describe enterprise-wide agent programmes. What must become a reusable capability rather than being rebuilt for every use case?
  • The sovereign financial cloud launched in February 2026 with AI built in. What should run there, in-house, and on global cloud?
  • Model updates can alter behaviour the bank has approved. Which evaluation and release controls keep production agents doing what was signed off?
  • The guidance asks that AI never become a single point of failure. What is the fallback when a model or provider goes down?

When the Customer Sends an Agent

Open Finance, Agent-Facing Services and Banking Beyond the Bank's App. The next customer of a UAE bank may not be a person. AI assistants are learning to compare, switch and transact for their owners, and open finance gives them the access to do it. Loyalty built on habit may not survive. The discussion explores what customer experience means when the bank is serving people, businesses and their agents together.
  • Open finance is mandatory, and customers can authorise third parties to read data and start payments. What is the bank's own app for?
  • Customers must be told when they deal with AI and offered an opt-out, in Arabic and English. How does that shape conversational banking?
  • From January 2027, e-invoicing is mandatory for firms with annual revenue of AED 50 million or more. What can corporate agents then automate?
  • Instant onboarding for non-residents and biometric payments are in pilot. Which services must the bank expose, orchestrate and protect when journeys become invisible?

What Counts as Money Now?

Aani, the Digital Dirham and One Bank Running Many Rails. Few markets are redefining money as quickly as the UAE. Instant payments, a domestic card scheme, regulated stablecoins and a central bank digital currency are arriving within the same few years. Each changes what a bank can build and charge for. The panel asks how banks choose their rails and prepare for payments that programme themselves.
  • Dirham stablecoin licences have been issued and the Digital Dirham is testing smart contracts. How should the bank route and reconcile across them?
  • Open finance payments must run on Aani. Which new connection is worth adding to the bank's estate, and which is not?
  • An agent may complete only part of a payment instruction. Who reconciles, reverses and explains the outcome when a transaction stops halfway?
  • An agent may initiate payment for a customer. Who verifies its delegated authority, confirms consent and carries liability if execution fails?

Does the Agentic Bank Pay?

AI Platform Economics, Operating Leverage and the Skills to Run It. The UAE's banks are investing in AI at a pace few peers can match. Shareholders and boards will soon ask what it returned. The answer depends on people as much as technology: who builds it, who works alongside it, and what happens to the roles it changes. The closing panel takes on the economics and the workforce of the agentic bank.
  • AI development talent in the region's banks runs at about half the global benchmark. How does the bank build, borrow or buy capability?
  • Separate teams are building their own AI stacks. What should be consolidated onto one platform, and what does duplication already cost the bank?
  • A completed task costs more than a model call. What does it cost once integration, monitoring and human exceptions are all included?
  • AI is still funded one project at a time. Which metrics should define return across productivity, risk, customer experience and growth?
